Fire Department Home Page |
The mission of the Greenwich Fire Department is the preservation of life and property in the Town of Greenwich against the ravages of fire. This is accomplished through a coordinated effort of active prevention through education, effective suppression enhanced by on going training in the latest technologies, and an aggressive code enforcement program.
Serving 60,000 residents, the Greenwich Fire Department protects the 55 square miles known as the Town of Greenwich. Also known as, the "Gateway to New England", Greenwich is located within the New York City metropolitan area. Virtually 45 minutes from "Broadway", the town extends through rolling hills, woodlands and meadows of the back country, to lakes and wetlands, and down to the beautiful beaches along the shoreline of Long Island Sound.
